Taking the time out to calm your nerves and listen to your inner self is very beneficial to oneself. The chance to sit and concentrate on your breathing and free your mind of common stress is good to do on a daily basis. Stress can cause us to lose focus and just see the negative things in life.
When you meditate you free your mind of those negativities and actually vision yourself where you want to be, where you feel happy and at peace. This puts things into perspective to help one focus better.
Sometimes taking the time to meditate in the tub could help as well. You can have the slow jams going in the background, some scented oil, and some nice bath crystals to ease your physical.

This is very true; it is a natural way of healing. Stress causes a chemical reaction in your body that upset the nervous system inducing high blood pressure, and stomach problem. Mediation helps to control the breathing and the flow of the blood that circulates through our body. I found it very helpful in reducing pain. It is amazing how being in this state you can shut out the world and open another. I like to burn incense and sit in my living room with my eyes close.

That is great to hear Amira. I wish more people would consider the art of meditation. There are so many benefits from it. I have adopted the practice every night to purify my thoughts before I go to bed. I have even taken the chance to do the routine in the shower as well before I get my day started. Kudos to you!
Anyone else have their experiences with meditation to share?

Well I know its not the norm, but it has worked for me and gotten me through VERY tough times as my close and personal friends on here know. I have a praying chair ... its actually not a special chair, its just that I have designated it to do something special in.
I normally read a passage of scripture from my Bible, Psalms or Proverbs. I think on what it is saying to me ... then read it again. The second time I look to see what it should mean or how it should apply to me. Then I close my eyes and do all I can to completely clear my head.
After about 5 minutes of silence, I pray. Not a rehearsed prayer like many of us do, but I have a little talk with God. Let Him know that first and foremost I am thankful for all I have, for what he has kept me from having before Im ready and for watching over me and mines. Then I tell Him whats going on with me. Yeah, we all know that He knows it all ... but at the same time, God wants to know if we know where we are at and what we truly need!
Give it a try and Im sure that it will bless your life!

| Seduction, that sounds good....i will try that sometime and I am sure others appreciate you sharing. Meditation is also a good time to tap in our spiritual side and it is always good to talk to the man above.
