May 2006 is TCM's Evening Theme: RACE AND HOLLYWOOD. I've set my calendar to watch the first all black movies cast that will be airing every Tuesday and Thursday for the month of May
The moives I watch last night were
Hallelujah filmed in 1929
A black laborer turns preacher after accidentally killing a man.
Green Pasture filmed in 1936 God tests the human race in this reenactment of Bible stories set in the world of black American folklore.
Now what I found so interesting was the fact I got upset at the condtion, and was about to turn to another station, but then I had to open my mind and listen. I had to know and get a clear understand of the life style of my people during thoses times. Like the way they spoke, the jobs and meals they perpare. And I got to see how a cotton mill operate. How cotton was picked then taken to the Gin, made into a bundle, and rolled ion to ships.
